owner/builder/driver Michael Thompson is looking to relocate his
missing car, please help. This Anglia ran in Southwest Ohio in
1971-72. It was sold as a roller to a guy in Dayton, Ohio who also
raced a Nova named “Scooby Doo”. The car was detailed to show
quality, as well as being an actual race car. The color was a
period Candy Red with lettering by NHRA Hall of Fame “The
Dauber.” The front suspension is fully chromed as well as the
rear. It had spindle mounted American mags up front. It was
stopped by rear disc brakes. The bottom of the car, the
transmission tunnel and fire wall were all polished sheet aluminum. The
roof insert was a red Plexiglas. The rear suspension was a modified
four bar with coil-overs. The hood was one piece fiberglass. If you have ANY information from the past as to the where-a-bouts of this race car please help Michael Thompson find and refurbish this piece of racing history! What do we know about this historic race car? Not much, therefore we
need
your help in finding out any information that would be helpful to its
restoration as the original “Bushwhacker.”
Here is the letter for P. J. and it is all we know to date: “Don, (2/15/09) This is the 1948 Fiat I have that we talked about on the phone. Fiberglass body maker unknown, chassis build by Connie Single early 1970’s. Original power blown 392 CHY Hemi, Big Hole [in] the hood section was for 671 [blower]. Name of car was the “Bushwhacker. “
I would like to talk to anyone that knows or has information or pictures of the car. Sometime in the future selling the car might be an option for me. Thank you, P.J.” |
